System Integration
Setpoint Systems has designed and installed over 1600 integrated building
control systems throughout the Western United States. The control
systems integrated together are HVAC controls, lighting, elevator, security,
card access, CCTV, fire alarm, fire suppression, power monitoring, energy
management, chillers, boilers, air handling and more over a common/shared
seamless infrastructure. Setpoint’s integrated projects range from data
centers and hospitals to high-rise buildings and universities.
The savings achieved by integrating dissimilar systems and dissimilar
manufacturers over a common network sharing information is substantial.
For example:
- Lower design cost: designing one control system
that encompasses all the major building systems takes less time than
designing three or four separate systems.
- Quicker commissioning: all building control
devices are connected to a common network and communicate using a common
protocol. On a common front-end system, if changes are required,
reconfigurations can be generated via the same front end.
- Reduced lifecycle costs: minimizes the number of
devices required to achieve overall system functionality and allows all
building control devices to share a single communications network.
- Monitoring: with an integrated solution, facility
personnel can easily monitor critical metrics like energy consumption and
occupancy patterns from a single and/or multiple workstations and/or... the
Internet.
- Improved flexibility: designing around BACnet
simplifies building system integration. It allows designers to choose from
numerous native BACnet devices from multiple manufacturers.
Setpoint’s integrated systems are designed to seamlessly share information
and to co-exist over a common network infrastructure by using available
“Open Protocols” such as ANSI/ASHRAE 135-1995, BACnet, PROFIBUS, CAB, EIB,
BatiBus, Modbus, LonWorks, XML/SOAP, ODBC, hotel reservations and check-in
systems, PLCs and… more.
